    Read this passage.

Every year, in the first ten days of December, the people of Nagaland get together to celebrate the Hornbill Festival. This festival is organised by the state government in a village called Kisama, which is twelve kilometres away from the capital city, Kohima. It is named after the Great Indian Hornbill which is a beautiful forest-dwelling bird and an important part of the culture of Nagaland.

This festival gives the Nagas an opportunity to exhibit their rich culture and heritage. One way in which this happens is that each tribe erects a morung for the festival. Morungs are traditional learning centres where the children of each village are taught customs and practices. They also function as the common area where announcements are made and get-togethers are held on special occasions. The morungs at the festival give us a glimpse into an important part of Naga history and culture.

Another interesting part of the festivals are the open-air events. The Nagas perform folk songs and enact stories based on the passing of the seasons, their ancestors, wars, and so on. Competitions in traditional sports such as archery, greased bamboo-pole climbing and wrestling are also held.

Then, there is the Hornbill National Rock Festival, which is a nationwide contest, where bands from across the country take part. It goes on for seven days, making it the longest rock festival in the country.
