Salman Rushdie (born 1947) is a British-Indian novelist and essayist who was born in Bombay. He is known for his elaborately fantastical storiees which combine magical realism with historical fiction. His most popular works include the Booker Prize-winning Midnight's Children, Louka and the Fire of LIfe, Shalimar the Clown, The Enchantress of Florence, and so on.
