Charles M Moore is a Scottish poet. He began writing poetry and songs at a very young age. When he sang in the school choir he would rewrite the words to old songs to make them funny. He is now a singer and songwriter of the band titled 'The Raptors'.
Tell all your fathers
and tell all your brothers
tell all your sisters and mothers and lovers
tell all the people you meet in the street
the fighting is over
there's no need to weep
Tell all the farmers
who manage the land
tell all the armies to lay down their arms
tell all the sailors in ships overseas
to come back to port
for the fighting has ceased
Tell all the teachers
to open the schools
tell all the governments there are new rules
tell all the makers of canons and guns
their job is redundant
the peace has begun
Tell all the starving
the food's on its way
tell all the sick we can help them today
tell all the homeless and those with no name
that all wars have ended
we're starting again
Tell all the countries
they must act as one
tell all the tribes that are under the sun
tell all the children the future is clear
the fighting is over
there's no need to fear
Tell all the monarchs dictators and sheiks
tell all the presidents and potentates
tell all the lords, tell all the chiefs
they're no longer needed
the world is at peace.
