James Alfred Wight (1916-1995), known by the pen name Jame Herriout, was a British veterinary surgeon and writer. He used his many years of experience as a veterinay surgeon to write a series of books with stories about animals and their owners. He is best known for his semi-autobiographical works, beginning with All Creatures Great and Small published in 1972.
