Homer is best known as the author of The Iliad and The Odyssey. The ancient greeks believed Homer to have been the first and greatest of the epic poets of Europe. The Iliad is about the Greek struggle to rescue Helen, a Greek queen, from her Trojan captors. the Odyssey is its sequel and tells the story of Odysseus' struggles.
