ICSE Class VII English Solutions

Humans and whales have plenty of things in common. They are the largest groups of mammals in the world when it comes to distribution locations. They come in a variety of sizes and have different behaviours. They also create different languages within their own cultures.

Whales are quite social in nature, nature their young ones and have the capacity to sing. They make clicks and other sounds with their mouths, which are used to share information with others in their group. Humans use different types of communication, but for the same purpose. Both species are quite affectionate in many ways too.

In spite of their similarities, humans are the only natural enemies that whales have. These gigantic creatures would survive quite happily in the oceans if humans weren't destroying their natural environment with pollution and toxins. Throw in the fact killing whales for meat, profit and for sport has vastly reduced their numbers. This has created a huge threat that the whales are up against. This is in spite of the fact that over 90 percent of the countries of the world are signatories to a ban against whale hunting. It's information for all humanity to protect the whales and keep them safe.

Many whales are injured or killed by the huge ships that travel across the oceans. They no longer have the freedom of exploring their waters without human elements that can harm them. Even fishing ships that have huge nets and mechanisms can injure or kill whales accidentally.

Due to the continued destruction of the environment by humans, whales have had to suffer. Their food source has become very scarce in some areas. This is due to the fact that other aquatic life, on which whales are dependent for food, is perishing due to environment pollution.Due to global warming, their migration patterns and even reproduction habits have been altered. They may no longer be able to store up enough fat for them to get through the migration, since they hardly eat while migrating.

There are plenty of humans out there that are concerned about the welfare of the whales. They are making every effort to offer a safe environment for these creatures. They continue to advocate for them to be left alone. They also attempt to get harsh punishments in the place for those that illegally kill them.

Humans do need to carefully consider what they are destroying when they kill whales. It isn't just them, but the entire balance of the ecosystems that live in the water that end up suffering because of it. As a result, we are going to end up creating problems for ourselves. There should be plenty of room for  both humans and whales to live a happy co-existence. Since the whales aren't a threat to humans but humans are a threat to whales, we know who needs to take action to get things back in balance. It is not too late for humans to learn to live responsibly allowing the continued survival of all creatures and continued health of this planet.
