William Shakeshpeare (1564-1616) is one the greatest dramatists of English Literature. He lived in England and wrote about forty plays and many more fourteen-lined poems called sonnets. His plays are divided into comedies (plays with happy endings), tragedies (plays with sad endings, usually where the main characters die) and histories (plays which deals with the lives of real historical characters). His plays are read and enjoyed by people all over the world even today.
