Sir James Matthew Barrie (1860-1937) was a Scottish novelist and playwright (writer of scripts for plays). Barrie started writing stories like Peter Pan, or The Boy Who couldn't Grow Up while making up stories about adventures with pirates and sailing to different islands to entertain children.
