About Jane Austin
Jane Austen (1775-1850) was an English novelist who won little renown in her lifetime because her works were published anonymously. Over the centuries, she has been recognised as one of the finest writers of British literature and her novels are especially appreciated for realism and for the excellent portrayal od characters. Her other popular novels are Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion, Northanger Abbey and Mansfield Park.
