    1. A passer-by found a suspicious suitcase at the bus stand. He saw the suitcase lying abandoned next to a tree. The passer-by did not open the suitcase. He called the police. The police took it to the police station. Just when a policeman was opening the suitcase, a man came rushing in. He claimed the suitcase was his.
    2. Aunt Polly asked Tom Sawyer to whitewash the fence. Tom asked his friend Jim to do the job for him. Tom would give a white marble to Jim for doing the job. But Aunt Polly chased off Jim. Next, Tom convinced Ben that whitewashing the fence was real fun. Ben gave Tom his apple for letting him whitewash it. Similarly, all the boys gave something to Tom in exchange for allowing them to whitewash the fence. Tom had collected many little treasures by the end of the day. And, of course, the boys had also completed Tom's job.
